Are you feeling stuck in a boring routine? I guess, you’ve just finished binge-watching “The Rain” or another trending Netflix series; scrolled down your social feeds for, like, a hundred time; but you are still BORED out of your mind. So, what can you do when your life is EXTRA boring?
The feeling of boredom is certainly a happiness-killer. It is also a sign that you need a change. You need something to happen right now before you’ve lost your sanity. This is a phenomenon that you’ll also face when you start living alone for the first time. The bad news is, you can’t have exciting things happen all the time. The good news is, you can make exciting things happen sometimes.
If you are feeling bored, it can actually be a good thing. It means you have the opportunity to focus on you, to concentrate on what is important to you. You can take a few moments to relax and do something you wouldn’t be able to do if your life was super dynamic.
What if dynamics is what you’re lacking in? YOU are in control of your life, so you can spice it up a little bit. Watching series all day long is comfortable, getting lost in IGTV videos is easy. At one point, though, it gets boring. So instead of spending hundreds of hours in front of your laptop, why don’t you go offline? Opt for a relaxing hobby or a fun activity that keeps your mind occupied. Go for a long walk or teach yourself a new skill. As little as these changes might seem, they can make a huge difference.
Each day may not be legen-wait-for-it-dary. If you choose to take charge, you can still enjoy your time and be happy. All you need to turn a super boring day into a joyful one is changing your mindset. Your life can be as exciting as you make it. You are the creator of your own life. Instead of scrolling down your Instagram feed and watching other people supposedly having fun, go and enjoy the moment.
Here’s a list of things to do when bored out of your mind
Netflix and social media won’t do when it comes to making your life less boring. I put together a selection of things you can do when you are bored. What else can I add to the list?

Definitely a solid list! I shouldn’t ever complain that I’m bored cause there’s really always something to do!
#5 is my fave thing to do when I’m bored. Why not perfect my makeup skills.
You got me at say yes to everything! Cool tips! They are noted. Thanks! 🙂
So needed this! My hubz travels a lot so I always need something to do on the weekend 😩
Loved all these ideas! Thanks for the post!
I LOVE this post. So fun. I wish I had more free time to do them all right now.
Very unique as well as nice idea. I will do some if I feel bored.
I love this list! I always feel like I have nothing to do and there are so many things on this list that just forget about. I will definitely have to come back to this list an try some things out x
Love this. Such great ideas. I love to try new things and places
I love these! There’s so many fun ways to spend your time, it’s just hard to think of them at the time. I always have a puzzle book with me for times when I find myself waiting idly (such as for an appointment) and I am always pleased at how much faster the time passes by with it!
This post is great! Thanks so much for sharing
Great post! I always seem to be less busy in the summer months (when college isn’t keeping my schedule packed), so I do tend to get bored… These are all really great suggestions! I have been taking a lot of walks recently; it helps with exercise and to clear my mind 🙂 Thanks for sharing!

#3 is something I tried last year. I took up sewing and stopped for awhile cause my 3 kids kept me busy but now that school is done. I so need something again. So I picked up crocheting again but I’m thinking of sewing again. Need to collaborate it with selling Avon products. Need to get out of Thais rut I’m in. But working out, keeping my kids busy, updating my socials can be boring at times. You just made me want to do my other crafts now. Thanks for sharing and love reading this!!!!
Love these ideas! I used to have a lot of time to kill when I was in college, so this would have been some great inspiration. I ended up spending most of that time playing video games:P

These suggestions are so good. I really need to start tackling my book list
Love this, so inspiring!
This is an awesome list! I have been giving some thought into taking some sort of free classes online. I just can’t seem to decide what it is I would like to gain knowledge in. Any suggestions?
That’s great! There are many websites that offer free online classes on a broad spectrum of topics. I might even write a blog post about it, if that would be helpful for you. Let me know 🙂
Maybe you could take a class to learn the basics of HTML or powerful storytelling strategies. Or you could choose something real fun like interior design or how to create a sketchbook. What is something that you enjoy doing?
Happy everything,
Iliyana
What a fab post full of great boredom killers! I do find myself in that rut where I’m scrolling past the same tweets for the 20th time, it’s good to find tasks to keep busy.
Love this list! You have some really solid suggestions here. When I’m really bored, I like to declutter my digital space too. I’ll go through my emails, Facebook groups, and followers across my social media platforms and delete or unfollow whatever/whomever doesn’t add value to me anymore.
That is a great list ! You could even and calling up a long lost friend or a family member you haven’t connected in a while with !
I love all of these ideas! I often find myself just staying in doing nothing because my lack of ideas–def going to do some of these! Thanks for sharing!
